Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gerardo Chávez achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in March 2021. In the NOW! auction, the work Autour du cirque sold for EUR 17,640.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerardo Chávez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2021 for EUR 40,320.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gerardo Chávez erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion NOW! wurde die Arbeit Autour du cirque für EUR 17.640,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerardo Chávez mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im März 2021 für EUR 40.320,00 versteigert wurde.
