Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Market Scene by Gerard Pieter Adolfs was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 6,118.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gerard Pieter Adolfs have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beeldhouwer Bali (Balinese sculptor) in October 2004 with an auction result of HKD 262,900.00 (€ 26,483.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Market Scene von Gerard Pieter Adolfs wurde im April 2013 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 6.118,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerard Pieter Adolfs auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beeldhouwer Bali (Balinese sculptor) im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 262.900,00 (€ 26.483,89).
