Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gerard Pieter Adolfs achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2015. In the Modern Art auction, the work Cockfight Adoean Djago, Bali sold for EUR 18,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gerard Pieter Adolfs; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Beeldhouwer Bali (Balinese sculptor) sold at auction in October 2004 with the realized price of HKD 262,900.00 (€ 26,483.89).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gerard Pieter Adolfs erzielte im Juni 2015 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Cockfight Adoean Djago, Bali für EUR 18.750,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 7.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Gerard Pieter Adolfs; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Beeldhouwer Bali (Balinese sculptor) im Oktober 2004 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 262.900,00 (€ 26.483,89).
