Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2013 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Kamponghuisje Met Overhangende Flamboyant (Kampong Cottage With Flamboyant Tree) by Gerard Pieter Adolfs. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 81,250.00 (€ 7,953.47), 16% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerard Pieter Adolfs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beeldhouwer Bali (Balinese sculptor), which sold at auction in October 2004 for HKD 262,900.00 (€ 26,483.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2013 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kamponghuisje Met Overhangende Flamboyant (Kampong Cottage With Flamboyant Tree) von Gerard Pieter Adolfs zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 7.953,47) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerard Pieter Adolfs mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Beeldhouwer Bali (Balinese sculptor) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2004 für HKD 262.900,00 (€ 26.483,89) versteigert wurde.
