The work The Tribulations of Job by Gerard de Lairesse was sold in the Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings auction at Christies in London in April 2007. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,581.26), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard de Lairesse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Marriage of Peleus and Thetis in January this year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 754,282.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Tribulations of Job von Gerard de Lairesse wurde im April 2007 in der Auktion Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings bei Christies in London versteigert.
