Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work A lovesick young woman seated beneath a tree, contemplating Cupid who sits beside her by Gerard de Lairesse for GBP 504.00 (€ 563.01). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard de Lairesse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Marriage of Peleus and Thetis in January this year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 754,282.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A lovesick young woman seated beneath a tree, contemplating Cupid who sits beside her von Gerard de Lairesse für GBP 504,00 (€ 563,01) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerard de Lairesse erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Marriage of Peleus and Thetis im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 754.282,56).
