Auction result misses estimated price range
In January last year a collector was able to acquire the work Vertebraesomniumanisoptera C by Geraldine Javier for HKD 3,150.00 (€ 360.46). This price was achieved in the auction Eclectic at Sothebys in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Geraldine Javier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ella amo' apasionadamente y fue correspondida (For she loved fiercely, and she is well-loved) in May 2010 with an auction result of HKD 1,460,000.00 (€ 151,677.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Vertebraesomniumanisoptera C von Geraldine Javier für HKD 3.150,00 (€ 360,46) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Eclectic bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Geraldine Javier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ella amo' apasionadamente y fue correspondida (For she loved fiercely, and she is well-loved) im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.460.000,00 (€ 151.677,58).
