Auction result well in line with expectations
The work John I by Geraldine Javier was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. The price achieved of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,709.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Geraldine Javier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ella amo' apasionadamente y fue correspondida (For she loved fiercely, and she is well-loved) in May 2010 with an auction result of HKD 1,460,000.00 (€ 151,677.58).

Die Arbeit John I von Geraldine Javier kam im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 14.709,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Geraldine Javier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ella amo' apasionadamente y fue correspondida (For she loved fiercely, and she is well-loved) im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.460.000,00 (€ 151.677,58).
