In October 2012 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Eruption by Geraldine Javier. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 740,000.00 (€ 73,668.78), 48% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Geraldine Javier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ella amo' apasionadamente y fue correspondida (For she loved fiercely, and she is well-loved), which sold at auction in May 2010 for HKD 1,460,000.00 (€ 151,677.58).

Im Oktober 2012 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eruption von Geraldine Javier zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 740.000,00 (€ 73.668,78) und damit 48% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Geraldine Javier mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ella amo' apasionadamente y fue correspondida (For she loved fiercely, and she is well-loved) beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für HKD 1.460.000,00 (€ 151.677,58) versteigert wurde.
