Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work By The Tree'S Strange Roots by Geraldine Javier. It changed hands for a price of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 20,590.58) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 140,000.00 – 220,000.00. Admittedly, works by Geraldine Javier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ella amo' apasionadamente y fue correspondida (For she loved fiercely, and she is well-loved) in May 2010 with an auction result of HKD 1,460,000.00 (€ 151,677.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit By The Tree'S Strange Roots von Geraldine Javier zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 20.590,58) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 140.000,00 – 220.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Geraldine Javier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ella amo' apasionadamente y fue correspondida (For she loved fiercely, and she is well-loved) im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.460.000,00 (€ 151.677,58).
