The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,820.89), 44% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerald Cooper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tulips, camellias and narcissi; and Tulips, viburnam and a peony, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,177.13).

Die Arbeit Still Life with Irises, Rhododendrons and Peonies von Gerald Cooper wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion European & British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.820,89) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerald Cooper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tulips, camellias and narcissi; and Tulips, viburnam and a peony beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.177,13) versteigert wurde.
