Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gerald Cooper achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in April this year. In the Home & InteriorsCollections auction, the work June flowers sold for USD 10,837.50 (€ 9,816.58) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerald Cooper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tulips, camellias and narcissi; and Tulips, viburnam and a peony, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,177.13).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gerald Cooper erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Home & InteriorsCollections wurde die Arbeit June flowers für USD 10.837,50 (€ 9.816,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerald Cooper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tulips, camellias and narcissi; and Tulips, viburnam and a peony beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.177,13) versteigert wurde.
