Auction result well in line with expectations
The work August by Gerald Cooper was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in June 2004. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,541.00 (€ 6,758.37) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerald Cooper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tulips, camellias and narcissi; and Tulips, viburnam and a peony, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,177.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit August von Gerald Cooper wurde im Juni 2004 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.541,00 (€ 6.758,37) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerald Cooper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tulips, camellias and narcissi; and Tulips, viburnam and a peony beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.177,13) versteigert wurde.
