The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,271.98), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georgina Lara - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rural Life, which sold at auction in March 2000 for GBP 4,025.00 (€ 6,693.76).
