This price was achieved in the auction Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 800,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Georgette Chen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Big Durian in May this year with an auction result of HKD 14,290,000.00 (€ 1,712,814.91).
