Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Self-Portrait by Georgette Chen was worth HKD 2,960,000.00 (€ 342,089.23) to a buyer in April 2015. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Asian Art Evening Sale at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 700,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Georgette Chen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Big Durian in May this year with an auction result of HKD 14,290,000.00 (€ 1,712,814.91).

Die Arbeit Self-Portrait von Georgette Chen war einem Käufer im April 2015 HKD 2.960.000,00 (€ 342.089,23) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Asian Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 700.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georgette Chen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with Big Durian im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 14.290.000,00 (€ 1.712.814,91).
