Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Georgette Chen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2012. In the Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Landscape sold for HKD 1,700,000.00 (€ 169,239.08) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georgette Chen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life with Big Durian in May this year with an auction result of HKD 14,290,000.00 (€ 1,712,814.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Georgette Chen erzielte im Oktober 2012 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Landscape für HKD 1.700.000,00 (€ 169.239,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 800.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georgette Chen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life with Big Durian im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 14.290.000,00 (€ 1.712.814,91).
