Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait d'homme de profil by Georges Victor Hugo was sold in the Collection Victor Hugo auction at Christies in Paris in April 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 150.00 – 200.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 162.50 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Georges Victor Hugo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a gentleman in February 2002 with an auction result of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,438.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait d'homme de profil von Georges Victor Hugo wurde im April 2012 in der Auktion Collection Victor Hugo bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 150,00 – 200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 162,50 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georges Victor Hugo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman im Februar 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 881,25 (€ 1.438,11).
