In April 2012 Christies in Paris held the auction Collection Victor Hugo, which included the work L'aumône by Georges Victor Hugo. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,062.50 33% above the upper estimate. Other works by Georges Victor Hugo have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,438.11) in February 2002 for the work Portrait of a gentleman.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.062,50 und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Georges Victor Hugo haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 881,25 (€ 1.438,11) im Februar 2002 für die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman beobachtet.
