The work Montagne sur l'eau by Georges Victor Hugo was sold in the Collection Victor Hugo auction at Christies in Paris in April 2012. It achieved a price of EUR 812.50 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 63 %. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Georges Victor Hugo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait of a gentleman sold at auction in February 2002 with the realized price of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,438.11).

Die Arbeit Montagne sur l'eau von Georges Victor Hugo wurde im April 2012 in der Auktion Collection Victor Hugo bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 812,50 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 63 %. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Georges Victor Hugo; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman im Februar 2002 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 881,25 (€ 1.438,11).
