In April 2012 Christies in Paris held the auction Collection Victor Hugo, which included the work Le verger by Georges Victor Hugo. The auction ended at the price of EUR 500.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georges Victor Hugo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a gentleman, which sold at auction in February 2002 for GBP 881.25 (€ 1,438.11).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im April 2012 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Collection Victor Hugo durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le verger von Georges Victor Hugo zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 500,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 300,00 – 500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Georges Victor Hugo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman beobachtet, die im Februar 2002 für GBP 881,25 (€ 1.438,11) versteigert wurde.
