It achieved a price of USD 4,590,000.00 (€ 3,908,711.57), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 31%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Seurat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Poseuses, Ensemble (Petite version) in November last year with an auction result of USD 149,240,000.00 (€ 144,570,376.83).

Die Arbeit La Voile Blanche von Georges Seurat kam im März 2021 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 4.590.000,00 (€ 3.908.711,57) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 31%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Seurat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Poseuses, Ensemble (Petite version) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.240.000,00 (€ 144.570.376,83).
