Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cache-cache by Georges Hugnet was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,133.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Georges Hugnet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Prints Of Joan Miró in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 47,500.00.
