Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Checking The Props; Miners At Work by George Bissill was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,477.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Bissill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Coal Miner, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,308.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Checking The Props; Miners At Work von George Bissill kam im Oktober 2013 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.477,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von George Bissill mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Coal Miner beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 4.308,20) versteigert wurde.
