This artwork by George Bissill achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2004. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Harlequins sold for GBP 621.40 (€ 939.07) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300.00. Admittedly, works by George Bissill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Coal Miner in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,308.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Bissill erzielte im Juli 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Harlequins für GBP 621,40 (€ 939,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Bissill auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Coal Miner im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 4.308,20).
