Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gangabal Lake, India; A view thought to be near Rampur, Jhelum Valley, Kashmir, a set of two by George Strahan was sold in the Travel & Exploration Sale auction at Bonhams in London in June this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,024.00 (€ 1,191.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by George Strahan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The bathing ghat in Haridwar, India in June this year with an auction result of GBP 4,864.00 (€ 5,660.86).
