The price achieved of GBP 69,300.00 (€ 80,852.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Romney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Edward Wortley Montagu (1713–1776) in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 4,002,500.00 (€ 5,048,410.94).
