Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A study of two women, one standing by her seated companion; and A study of a woman seated by a curtain with another figure beyond (2) by George Romney was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Bonhams in April this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,453.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Romney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Edward Wortley Montagu (1713–1776) in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 4,002,500.00 (€ 5,048,410.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A study of two women, one standing by her seated companion; and A study of a woman seated by a curtain with another figure beyond (2) von George Romney wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Bonhams versteigert.
