Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lie The Dots Down, 1996 by George Rodrigue was sold in the Contemporary Art Online: NYC auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2018. The price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,220.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Rodrigue have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work I Hear The Blues, I See The Blues, I Sing The Blues in March 2009 with an auction result of USD 170,500.00 (€ 128,572.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lie The Dots Down, 1996 von George Rodrigue wurde im Juli 2018 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online: NYC bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.220,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Rodrigue auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit I Hear The Blues, I See The Blues, I Sing The Blues im März 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 170.500,00 (€ 128.572,51).
