Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian Amihion And Antiopa by George Raynor Hoff. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 13,200.00 (€ 7,893.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Raynor Hoff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian The Kiss, which sold at auction in August 2009 for AUD 28,800.00 (€ 16,932.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Amihion And Antiopa von George Raynor Hoff zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 13.200,00 (€ 7.893,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von George Raynor Hoff mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian The Kiss beobachtet, die im August 2009 für AUD 28.800,00 (€ 16.932,09) versteigert wurde.
