Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View of Leiden, The Netherlands by George Oberteuffer was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,528.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Oberteuffer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club, Maine in October 2007 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 13,823.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit View of Leiden, The Netherlands von George Oberteuffer kam im September 2012 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.528,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Oberteuffer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club, Maine im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 13.823,61).
