Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Oberteuffer could be acquired at Christies in New York in March 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work View of Leiden, Netherlands changed hands for USD 6,600.00 (€ 4,934.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Oberteuffer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club, Maine, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 20,000.00 (€ 13,823.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Oberteuffer konnte im März 2007 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit View of Leiden, Netherlands für USD 6.600,00 (€ 4.934,95) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Oberteuffer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club, Maine beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 20.000,00 (€ 13.823,61) versteigert wurde.
