In March 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Impression--Boulogne Harbor, Winter, France by George Oberteuffer. The result of USD 3,000.00 (€ 1,898.13) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Oberteuffer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club, Maine in October 2007 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 13,823.61).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Impression--Boulogne Harbor, Winter, France von George Oberteuffer zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 1.898,13) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Oberteuffer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club, Maine im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 13.823,61).
