Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work De Turfsingel, Groningen by George Martens for EUR 720.00. This price was achieved in the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Martens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A still life with flowers and fruits in December 2006 with an auction result of EUR 9,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit De Turfsingel, Groningen von George Martens für EUR 720,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Martens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A still life with flowers and fruits im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 9.600,00.
