Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work A still life with fruits, flowers and a bottle by George Martens. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 3,585.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Martens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A still life with flowers and fruits, which sold at auction in December 2006 for EUR 9,600.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit A still life with fruits, flowers and a bottle von George Martens zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 3.585,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von George Martens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A still life with flowers and fruits beobachtet, die im Dezember 2006 für EUR 9.600,00 versteigert wurde.
