Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work View Of Atrani, Gulf Of Salerno by George Loring Brown. The price achieved of USD 5,625.00 (€ 5,098.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Loring Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Military Troops at Camp, which sold at auction in September 2014 for USD 20,000.00 (€ 15,837.82).
