Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Oaks, Durham by George Inness was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. It achieved a price of USD 35,000.00 (€ 28,409.09), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Inness achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset on the River in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,945,000.00 (€ 1,250,000.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Oaks, Durham von George Inness kam im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 28.409,09) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Inness erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunset on the River im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.945.000,00 (€ 1.250.000,00).
