Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Italy 13 1/8 x 9 1/2 in. (33.3 x 24.1 cm.) by George Inness was sold in the American Art auction at Bonhams in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 10,200.00 (€ 9,505.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Inness achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset on the River in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,945,000.00 (€ 1,250,000.00).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.200,00 (€ 9.505,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden.
