This artwork by George Inness achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2018. In the American Art Online auction, the work Medfield, Massachusetts (A Medfield Farm) sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,351.32) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Inness achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset on the River in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,945,000.00 (€ 1,250,000.00).
