A top price for George Inness, Jr. - as previously expected
In September 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Sol's Glory by George Inness, Jr.. The price achieved of USD 7,200.00 (€ 5,971.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Sol's Glory is the most expensive artwork by George Inness, Jr. that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im September 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sol's Glory von George Inness, Jr. zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 7.200,00 (€ 5.971,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Sol's Glory das teuerste Kunstwerk von George Inness, Jr., das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
