In September 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Sol's Glory by George Inness, Jr.. The price achieved of USD 7,200.00 (€ 5,971.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Sol's Glory is the most expensive artwork by George Inness, Jr. that we have observed at auctions so far.
