Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Josephine Baker, Paris by George Hoyningen-Huene. It changed hands for a price of USD 8,925.00 (€ 7,418.95) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Hoyningen-Huene - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fashion studies, 1939-1942, which sold at auction in February 2009 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 21,718.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Josephine Baker, Paris von George Hoyningen-Huene zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 8.925,00 (€ 7.418,95) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Hoyningen-Huene mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fashion studies, 1939-1942 beobachtet, die im Februar 2009 für USD 27.500,00 (€ 21.718,53) versteigert wurde.
