It achieved a price of GBP 998.75 (€ 1,433.94), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 66%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Howard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bordighera in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 9,987.50 (€ 16,591.22).

Die Arbeit A view of Rome from the Pincio von George Howard wurde im August 2003 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 998,75 (€ 1.433,94) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 66%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Howard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bordighera im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.987,50 (€ 16.591,22).
