Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction The Scottish Sale, which included the work Winter Landscape, Ayrshire by George Houston. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,473.27) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Houston have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Springtime in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 31,700.00 (€ 40,323.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Winter Landscape, Ayrshire von George Houston zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.473,27) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Houston auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Springtime im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.700,00 (€ 40.323,79).
