Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Loch Fyne, Argyll by George Houston was sold in the Collections, Including the Selected Contents of Meldon Park auction at Bonhams in February this year. The price achieved of GBP 484.50 (€ 552.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Houston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Springtime in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 31,700.00 (€ 40,323.79).

Die Arbeit Loch Fyne, Argyll von George Houston wurde im Februar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Collections, Including the Selected Contents of Meldon Park bei Bonhams versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 484,50 (€ 552,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Houston erzielen.
