In May this year Bonhams held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work An autumnal lochside landscape by George Houston. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,076.86), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Houston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Springtime in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 31,700.00 (€ 40,323.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit An autumnal lochside landscape von George Houston zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.076,86) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Houston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Springtime im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.700,00 (€ 40.323,79).
