Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Fair Blows The Wind For Home by George Horace Davis was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 199.75 (€ 317.87). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Horace Davis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A vision of the future - An airport for helicopters in the heart of London: The proposed plan for a "helidrome" at Charing Cross diagrammatically explained (illustrated); and As it will be—London's new airport at Gatwick, which was to be opened by in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 16,875.00 (€ 21
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A vision of the future - An airport for helicopters in the heart of London: The proposed plan for a "helidrome" at Charing Cross diagrammatically explained (illustrated); and As it will be—London's new airport at Gatwick, which was to be opened by im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.875,00 (€ 21.546,94).
