Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Diagram of experimental rockets and guided missiles (illustrated); and A plan of a typical R.A.F. "Bloodhound" guided missile weapon site by George Horace Davis was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 798.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Horace Davis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A vision of the future - An airport for helicopters in the heart of London: The proposed plan for a "helidrome" at Charing Cross diagrammatically explained (illustrated); and As it will be—London's new airport at Gatwick, which was to be opened by in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 16,875.00 (€ 21
