This artwork by George Gardner Symons achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2007. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Hill Top View of the River sold for USD 18,000.00 (€ 13,458.95) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Gardner Symons - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blush of Evening, which sold at auction in September 2007 for USD 46,600.00 (€ 32,773.05).
