Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work The Derby, 1899, Flying Fox wins! by George Finch Mason. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 418.25 (€ 622.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Finch Mason achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The London To Norwich Coach With A Hunt Beyond in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 5,975.00 (€ 8,595.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Derby, 1899, Flying Fox wins! von George Finch Mason zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 418,25 (€ 622,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Finch Mason erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The London To Norwich Coach With A Hunt Beyond im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.975,00 (€ 8.595,01).
