Upper estimate price exceeded by 50 %.
The work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Miss Bedingfield, Circa 1782 by George Engleheart was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019. It achieved a price of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,764.15), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Engleheart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A young lady, facing right in low-cut white dress, white shirt with high standing lace-bordered collar, lace cap and straw bonnet tied with white ribbons in her dark brown curling hair in December 2002 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 69,706.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
